E-sports, also known as electronic sports, is a term to describe collectively organized, competitive video gaming. Most commonly, e-sports are multiplayer video game competitions between individual players and teams. These games can range from multi-player online games to single-player games, drone racing, and online chess.

Because many e-sports are played as a team, every game requires students to work collaboratively with their teammates. Teamwork is essential for a high-performance team to reach its goals. E-sports helps students build strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills; it can also help players develop soft, problem-solving, and social skills.
