Description:

The primary responsibilities of the Account Executive will be to promote and sell Red River Communications products and services, which include phone, internet and television services to residential and business customers within our service territory. This individual will research potential customers while identifying needs and proposing solutions and quotes for service. Maintains proactive communications between the customer and company to ensure clear expectations and follow-through have been met. Responsibilities require discretion, sound judgment, tact and poise.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Actively encourages teamwork, open communication, and cooperative interaction by promoting a positive work environment that reflects the company’s vision and values.
  • Routinely contacts Red River’s business and residential customers via personal visits to determine needs. This position will be out of the office, pursuing customer sales 50% or more of the time.
  • Works cooperatively with other departments, including the Marketing Specialist, IT, OSP, and CFO to present proposals to customers in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Works in conjunction with the Marketing Specialist to develop sales and marketing strategies to achieve company objectives, increase sales and maintain the company’s competitive position.
  • Sells customers on Red River’s products and services offered throughout the service territory. Provides quotes for services.
  • Listens intently while providing solutions and educates customers on the benefits of Red River products and services.
  • Meets and/or exceeds established sales quotas as outlined in the compensation plan.
  • Provides monthly reports to the General Manager/CEO of cold calls, prospects, proposals and signed agreements.
  • Continuously keeps CRM or other mediums used to track sales or lists updated. Identifies market trends and updates the Customer Experience Manager and/or CEO/GM on an as-needed basis.
  • Participates in community, civic and social events to increase the company’s exposure throughout the service area.
  • Acts as a liaison between the company and the community in fostering and promoting local economic development projects.
  • Establishes themselves as a point of contact for all business-related inquiries, including questions, troubleshooting, billing and service updates.
  • Monitors economic development through the service territory. Maintains close ties with communities to evaluate potential demand for new services and monitor competitors’ emergence. Ensures the Customer Experience Manager and/or Marketing Specialist are also updated on this information.
  • Coordinates courteously and professionally with all departments while ensuring established lead times and expectations are communicated clearly.
  • Protects confidentiality as needed internally and for customers.
  • May assist or back up to the customer experience team as needed and directed by the Customer Experience Manager.
  • Works with marketing and customer service to produce marketing and/or advertising campaigns surrounding prospective customers and/or areas within the service territory.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management. *

Education and Experience Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, training, education and experience
  • 3+ years of sales experience exceeding quotas
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Computer Skills
